The design task was to renovate and renew the space in front of the main entrance of the shopping centre, including the playground. It was a priority to adapt to the already renovated interiors, and to take the same motifs as in the shopping centre and bring them outdoors. Several concepts were developed during the design process. The final design is a combination of these, and is a cost-effective version. The current pedestrian links have been maintained, the playground equipment has been renovated and replaced. In order to achieve a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution, we have used the existing paving elements in good condition. Before being collected, they were washed with a high-pressure cleaner and then sorted and graded before being recycled.
