The landscaping concept is determined by the longitudinal narrow shape of the properties and the location of the houses. The proposed buildings include 4-car parking spaces alongside the buildings. Ornamental planting in the front gardens and shrubby, ornamental grass flower beds along the parking areas are designed. The back yards of the buildings have been designed with terraces and landscaped green areas, with some of the lawned garden areas replaced by wildflower and herb meadows.

One of the parcels has a wine bar on the lower level of the building. The wine bar’s garden has a large wood-clad terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape and vineyards. The bar is surrounded by an almond tree orchard. From the terrace, a large arrow-shaped installation points to the bar’s winery.

Our task was to design the garden of an existing family holiday home in Nice, France. The main goals of the design included design the area around the house, adding new features and integrating them into the surroundings. Our aim was to create a garden with a unique atmosphere that expresses the specific beauty of the region. In addition, an important part of the design is to recreate the natural habitats of the plants, so that the garden is in harmony with the surrounding landscape. It was also important to consider ecological aspects to make the garden sustainable and minimise water use. A harmonious mix of materials, plants and design elements create a delightful place where people and nature meet.

During the design of the gardens of the duplex house in Debrecen, several versions were created that play with terrain, functions and planting. In the case of the back garden, a priority was to provide a visual and auditory separation between the two gardens with a plant strip, as well as to bridge the difference in terrain at the end of the garden. The front garden is designed to evoke a rock garden, with drought-tolerant plants. On the green roof, sunny and shady, wavy perennial patches with flowering small shrubs and bushes have been planted to match the weather, which the owners can enjoy from the upstairs rooms and terrace.

The summer house garden in Köveskál is an extension of the house. Each room is connected to a terrace facing the garden, which is accessed from the outside by a pathway, enclosed by an outdoor swimming pool. The garden is screened from the road by a multi-level vegetation along the garden perimeter fence. A play area for children was created under the shade of existing trees.

Several versions of the garden of the family house designed by Földes Architects were initially developed. As part of the final design, the entrance zone has a long, three-parted, showy, trimmed hornbeam hedge. In the northern part, the fence is lined with laurel and then bamboo to form a natural wall. On the eastern side, a decorative flowering shrub strip runs along the entire side. A geometric herb garden is near the kitchen garden, and to the south there are 3 raised planters for a vegetable garden. For the children, there is also a play house in the shade of the tree. The most peaceful spot in the garden is the resting area, with a well-positioned teak bench overlooking the whole garden, and a bird bath reminiscent of a kitchen garden counter.

For the garden of the duplex building, we wanted to create a quiet, separated space with a large open lawn for play/relaxation, a firepit, vegetable beds, all for serving the residential function. The almost one-level terrain only needed to be covered with slopes, stones and gabion walls near the building, because of the lower level apartment and car driveway. In terms of planting, solitaire shrubs and group of shrubs have been planted, and a new hedge has been created along the boundaries. The retaining wall is covered with creeping plants, low ground-covering shrubs provide the binding for slopes, and the garden is decorated with patches of colourful perennials.

The terraced back yard was already rich in existing plants even at the beginning of the planning. The centrepiece of the garden is an ornamental pond close to the new building extension, which is nourished by an on-site spring. The surroundings of a meandering stream in a rocky bed are highlighted with naturalistic planting and planting areas of varying depths for aquatic and wetland plants have been designed along the edge of the pond. The vast majority of the pathways in the garden have been paved with stone. On the walkways is the form of slabs laid on a concrete base, at the driveway and on the terraces of the garden seating and dining area in pebble paving.
