The studio traces its roots back to the ’80s, when László Kuhn designed his very first gardens. This became a family tradition and in 2003 the Gardenworks Landscape Design Studio was founded by Andr?s Kuhn and Judit Doma-Tarcs?nyi. In the past few years, our office has expanded in terms of both national and international professional experience and the number of landscape designers. As the Chief Gardener of Debrecen, Andr?s shapes the green space development of the country’s second largest city, while Judit is working at the Department of Garden and Open Space Design at the MATE Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where she is educating future landscape architects. The office is a team of landscape architects and garden designers combine years of experience and expertise with new technical solutions and a youthful dynamism.
Being a landscape architect can be compared with being master craftsman of the past, where form and design are of importance, but the emphasis is on usability and comfort. The design process is not guided by artistic self-expression, but focuses on the users, in adddition to taking into account ecological sustainability. Our design is therefore based on individual, long-lasting solutions adapted to the customer’s needs. As a result of the conscious shaping of space, which also affects the senses, the exciting spaces and gardens we design are places people like to use and spend time in.
